Reflecting On Life…

In a span of one week, there were 3 plane crashes; Malaysian Airline MH17 (claimed 298 lives), TransAsia ATR-72 (claimed 48 lives), Air Algerie AH5017 (claimed 116 lives) and some people I know lost their loved ones not due to the plane crashes but to sickness or road accident.  Is life like a box of chocolate?  Life is uncertain, unpredictable as God word says in James 4:14 “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” (NIV)

So how should we live our remaining lives here on earth?

For me, I will walk closer to God and share the good news as I go along.  Live life to the fullest, spending time with loved ones whenever possible and celebrate life every single moment.  To be grateful for all the blessings and try not to be envious or compare life with others.  We are called in Colossians 3:2 to “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” (NIV) because in Matthew 6:21, says “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (NIV)

When we live for God and align our will to His will, everything will fall into place and He will provide for our every need.  What we need to do to carry out our purpose is to commit our plans to Him and walk in His light and be obey His commands.

Life is short, love and cherish the people around you.  Forgive those who need your forgiveness.  Date your spouse, play with your kids, visit your parents, yum char with your friends for you do not when will be the last time you’ll see them.
